This is not too uncommon in places like Alaska, where bandwidth is crucial.
They are seeking to make the most money they can. However, today news broke out that someone is stepping up to help consumers out.

Hm... well lets hope TWC actually listens and stops. They are the only cable company in my area. For whatever reason many cities in Texas only have one cable company. Heh... After my contract runs out I'm planning on switching anyway, but that isn't for another year.
